As a singer-turned-actor herself, Uhm Jung Hwa shared in an interview, “Early in my career, there were few people who were both singers and actors. Because I might get the response ‘Why is a singer acting?’, I purposely tried to be different. When I stood on stage as a singer, I would put on heavy makeup, wear a wig, or contact lenses. I intentionally tried to overdo it. But nowadays, it seems like the public readily accepts singers who also act.”

“Singers have a good foundation in expressing their emotions, so I think they also act well. There are a lot of singers in the entertainment industry who can act. Expressing emotions is important when acting, and in Suzy’s case, her portrayal of emotions is good. She naturally acts well. I also like Seo In Gukbecause he can act.”

INFINITE to pull a hidden camera prank on Sunggyu on ‘High Society’

 

INFINITE showed fellow member Sunggyu a little tough love during a recent filming of ‘Lee Soo Geun and Kim Byung Man’s High Society‘.

The members of INFINITE received the mission, “Fool Sunggyu and surprise him.” They then arrived at a penthouse, where they put their heads together in order to pull a hidden camera prank on their group’s leader. Sunggyu had no clue that his members were in the other room and had to guess who the mystery guests were.

Once Sunggyu was filled in on the prank, he shared, “There is no one I can trust in this world.” The others then eased up on Sunggyu and surprised him with a birthday cake, showing that they really do care.

2PM‘s Taecyeon and Gui Gui were whisked off to Jeju Island for a romantic honeymoon getaway on ‘We Got Married (World)‘.

On the upcoming episode, viewers will be able to see the couple enjoy their romantic vacation on Jeju Island as they have fun at the airport, beach, and hotel resort. Taecyeon and Gui Gui made fans jealous with their newlywed vibe as they cuddled up for a little PDA, wrote messages in the sand, and took tons of couple photos.

Taecyeon reflected on his time with Gui Gui, sharing, “The ocean, sand, and clouds in the sky were so beautiful as you can see in the photo. Gui Gui and I were also in the photo, and we were also very pretty.” Gui Gui commented, “It feels like we’ve grown from being friends to being a married couple.”

Netizens discover conflicting statements on T-ARA’s Jiyeon’s first kiss experience

 

T-ARA’s Ji Yeon is on the chopping block yet again for her conflicting statements.

Back on May 13, the four members of T-ara N4 were guests on MNET‘s ‘Beatles Code 2‘, and the girls received attention as they talked about their first kisses. On the episode, Ji Yeon had shared, “I had my first kiss in my third year of junior high. I don’t remember well but I think he was an oppa.”

However netizens have dug up a past statement from Ji Yeon which conflicted with what she stated on Beatles Code. Back in May 2010, she appeared on ‘Strong Heart‘ and stated, “I shared my very first kiss with Yoo Seung Ho, my ideal type.” She shared a kiss with Yoo Seung Ho for a scene in the music video for the ironically titled, “Lies“. Ji Yeon also revealed on the same show, “I was embarrassed during the kiss scene because Yoo Seung Ho’s face was right in front of mine. I was going to just pretend, but we did it for real because the director demanded it. It was the first kiss of my life. I really enjoyed it.”

Some netizens who discovered this stated, “You’re not even that old. How can you not remember who your first kiss was with?“, “At a time like this, she should’ve been more careful“, and “Is anything she says the truth?“. Others came to Jiyeon’s defense and said, “It’s not strange for someone to not remember clearly“, and “She probably just got mixed up, she did say she didn’t remember well“

T-ara N4 hold fansigning for LA fans at VLADO

 

Fans in Los Angeles got a special treat as they got to attend a mini fansigning with T-ara N4 and Dani!

The girls went to VLADO‘s HQ, a sneaker brand famous for being worn by Justin Bieber. When people heard that T-ara N4 were going to hold a meet and greet, about 1000 fans gathered in hopes of catching a glimpse of the girls. When T-ara N4 saw how many fans had come to see them, they decided to open a surprise fansigning for their fans!

Dani also joined them for their fansigning, which was a pleasant surprise for fans as well. The girls left Los Angeles and arrived back in Korea earlier today.

SECRET’s Hyosung made sure to check the level of exposure for ‘Yes’ lingerie

 

SECRET’s Hyosung revealed that she had made sure to check over how much exposure was required for her contract with lingerie company ‘Yes‘ before she signed it.

She was the first idol ever to signup for a lingerie photoshoot and a question was posed to her recently on MBC Every1‘s ‘Weekly Idol‘. The MC’s asked her, “You were the first idol to endorse for lingerie. How’d you feel about it?“. She answered, “To be honest, I was a bit burdened. Before my CF shooting, I made sure to check the level of exposure and also made sure to check the financial amount multiple times.”

The toned down look has worked out well for ‘Yes’ as the company experienced an increase of sales ranging from 40%-50% compared to the previous year.

Girls’ Generation’s Yuri will star in the upcoming movie titled ‘No Breathing’

 

Girls’ Generation’s Yuri is taking her acting career to the next level!

After starring in the drama ‘Fashion King‘ last year, Yuri is now ready to make her big screen debut through the movie titled ‘No Breathing‘, a swimming themed movie that will revolve around the story of love and rivalry among competitive swimmers.

In the movie, Yuri will play the lead role and she will portray the girl named ‘Jung Eun’, a girl who dreams of becoming a musician. She is very laid back, and boasts an ability to contain much emotion in her songs.  In addition to that, Yuri will also have a love triangle with her childhood friends in the movie which will be played by the actors Lee Jong Suk and Seo In Guk.

Yuri also expressed, “I’m happy I’ll be able to show something new about myself through film. I came to like the character after reading the scenario for ‘No Breathing’, and I started to feel like acting. I’ll work hard to make the movie a good piece.”.

They will start filming on the 19th and the movie is scheduled to be released in theaters later this year.

IU asks “Do you know us?” in teaser for LOEN Entertainment’s first idol boy group ‘HISTORY’

Having recently revealed two members of upcoming boy group, HISTORY, LOEN Entertainment is now enlisting IU to help get the word out about this new group.

LOEN said of the group, “HISTORY is an ‘alternative group’ that is not defined by a specific genre but rather by their passion for music. The group will go beyond the standard sound and performances and establish a new paradigm in K-pop.”

All the members will be introduced one by one starting on the 15th, so be on the look out!

[Spoiler] Yoo Jae Suk dives into the Han River in race against the clock on ‘Infinity Challenge’

MC Yoo Jae Suk showed his many talents as the ‘nation’s MC’ and impressed viewers with his swimming skills on ‘Infinity Challenge‘.

On the latest episode, the ‘Infinity Challenge’ team received the mission to find and catch Noh Hong Chul within 30 minutes. As the members were getting closer to tracking him around Seoul, Noh Hong Chul swam into the Han River so that the members wouldn’t be able to tag him.

When Jung Jun Ha, HaHa, and Gil finally found him swimming in the river, Noh Hong Chul called out to them saying, “GPS, money, they are all mine. So what if you have those, you can’t even swim”, showing his confidence in winning the mission. But Noh Hong Chul’s hope for victory was soon dashed when MC Yoo Jae Suk came onto the scene. Yoo Jae Suk immediately knew what to do and put on his life vest. He then dived into the cold river and quickly swam to Noh Hong Chul, catching him with 59 seconds left on the clock.

miss A’s Fei wants Kim Sooro’s pelvis

miss A’s Fei and her partner took a challenge on samba on MBC’s ‘Dancing with the Star 3′ which was aired at 22th March.

Fei was practicing her pelvis when she got frustrated and said the practices didn’t work. Fei sighed “Now I know that my body is not as flexible. Why is my body so stiff. I’m shocked.”

In the end, Fei stopped from practicing and said to Kim Sooro “I want your pelvis” that brought laughter.
